A Solomit acoustic ceiling not only
dramatically reduces noise levels through sound absorption, but adds
a natural softness to a room or public area. Some of the benefits of
Solomit ceilings are
-
Reduced
noise through the effective
sound absorption and sound
transmission loss capabilities of the straw panels. Full
sound absorption, attenuation and sound transmission reports are
available.
-
Provides
thermal
insulation through thermal resistance
approximately equivalent to 35mm fibreglass insulation. This can
be further enhanced
with the addition of other insulation including double sided roofing foil
.
-
Is
light weight which makes
construction and the installation of the ceiling
panels easy.
-
Is
fire resistant
in compliance with current building regulations for some public
buildings. Solomit has a Australian
Department of Health "B" Grade
Fire Rating and is accepted as a fire resistant lining
material for all public buildings. Fire test reports are
available.
Solomit building sheets are manufactured in Australia of selected clean wheat stubble compressed. The compressed straw is reinforced with galvanised wire running the full length of the sheets and held in compression with wire stitches. The sheets therefore are rigid and support their own width when installed correctly.
